Hint to puzzle 105: Difference of nth powers

Solutions exist only for n = 2.  Consider separately the cases: n = 2, n = 4, even n > 4, odd n.  In the latter two cases, by considering minimal cases of the more general equation xⁿ − yⁿ = 2^k, construct a proof by contradiction that no solutions exist.
